Bah Humbug Guest Designer - Week 8

This is my last week as Guest Designer for  Bah Humbug  Thank you to you dear Humbuggers for asking me to feature as a guest designer, I have so enjoyed my time. God willing, I will be making sure I continue to take part in all of the challenges, I very much look forward to 'Bah Humbug Day' reading what fab. challenges the Humbuggers have set and viewing their work and that of the guest designers.
This weeks challenge - 'Things That Fly' I had all sorts of images and ideas going through my head but I have had to keep things simple because time has been against me. I have made a simple 'Angel' bauble using the fab. Hero Arts Hand Drawn clear Rubber Stamp set.
The rubber stamped images (Angel and Bauble Hanger)are from

Gift Card - Filled with Yummy Choc.

I have made another Gift Card  I have been trying to make a few over the past few weeks but it just hasn't happened - so I knuckled down last night and am pleased to report I have now finished it. Maybe it will now spur me on to make a few others I am wanting to create.
I am taking part in a 'Chocolate and Card Swap'  - This Gift Card is destined for Austrailia -

My swap partner says she likes all chocolate .. so it was quite easy to fill the gift box with a varied selection of Chocs. in both Milk and Plain.

Welcome to the 2011 One World One Heart Blogger Event hosting for the 5th year
of A Whimsical Bohemian!

One World One Heart is a worldwide event for bloggers. It gives all those who blog a chance to meet and mingle and form connections with those they may not have otherwise met from all over the world. In the past 4 years this event has grown to over 1,000 participants with lasting friendships (and even one love connection) formed along the way. Think of it as a GIGANTIC open house allowing you to travel without ever leaving your home........going from blog to blog (in various countries) seeing the wonder each one has created and meeting all the fabulous people behind those blogs. As a bonus each blogger participant will offer up a "door prize or prizes"....just for dropping by, saying hello and seeing their world. It's really that easy."
See here for the full lowdown
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Firstly, Welcome and thankyou for taking the time to visit my blog. I am a bit behind with getting this onto my blog, I have been without the internet so it hasn't been possible to get it on any earlier.
This is my 1st ever time of participating in OWOH blogger event. I am quite new to blogging,  but was aware of the fabulous event.
I enjoy most crafts, it has been mostly papercrafting over the past 5 or so yrs. I learnt to knit a couple of yrs. ago and I hope this yr. is going to be the yr. I master the art of 'crochet'
I have recently taken up 'photography' I own a Fuji Finepix s1000. I have had my camera a little over a yr. but still do not know all of its capabilities, I strive in getting to know my camera better.  I have recently attended a one day photography course run by a local photographer, as well as joining my local camera club. I have met so many wonderful people and made some new friends along the way.
I have learned from blogging that there are so many wonderful, kind, creative and talented people out there.
I do have some 'Door Prizes. At the end of this event, on Feb. 17, I will be using a 'HAT' (apologies, do not know much about the random generator thingy) where my 2 grown up daughters will pick a name from the hat from among those of you who leave a comment here; can you please make sure you either use your Google ID or leave an email address so I can contact you. . I will be adding at least one more  'Door Prize, maybe 2, all dependent if inspiration 'hits' giving visitors to my blog even more chance of winning.
The 'Door Prize' consists of some of the things I 'love' A ornamental 'Bare'
box to alter/decorate, a selection of some yummy lace & ribbon,
large blooms, bakers twine and 'seam binding' in white
so you can distress/colour to whatever takes your fancy
Thank you again for taking the time to visit and for your comments. It is so much appreciated.
Enjoy the event, visit lots of other OWOH participants' blogs
Bah Humbug Guest Designer - Week 7
I have been looking forward as well as feeling somewhat nervous to this weeks challenge over at Bah Humbug  the theme
CD cards - either made using a CD or a CD on them
I have been wracking my brain as to how I could achieve making a card using a CD - I have only used a CD once before on a birthday card and that was some 6 yrs back. I saw a beautiful card on
Hazel's Blog and I immediately thought it would be perfect for adding a CD onto the main base card. I contacted Hazel to ask her how she created her card, Hazel very kindly offered cut me some cards in different colourways on her Cricut for me to have a play with - Thank you so very much Hazel for all your help. I then came down with Flu, my brain so fuzzy and feeling pretty crook; ideas were thin on the ground. My initial thoughts of altering the CD using alcohol inks to create a 'background' did not work so it was onto plan B .. wait a minute there isn't a 'plan B' Anyway,  after a rummage in my RS sundries box I unearthed some UTEE - after 3 layers of UTEE the CD was looking very pretty, I very much liked the texture. I don't think I heated the UTEE enough as I could not get a RS image to show - so decided to leave it as it was, only swiping it over with a dye inkpad and some krylon pen to highlight the texture of the UTEE. My next stumbling block was how do I add 'elments' to the CD - I will admit I struggled and it was a while before any inspiration hit. I could only think of something '3D' maybe decoupage or similar - I am no good with anything like that so I ended using several elements from a couple of medallion RS I have. I am not 100% happy with the finished main element, it might of been better to print off some of the very pretty mandalas on the net or maybe added some glitter to the snowflakes. Just cannot put my finger on it what I don't like about it. I have made it possible so the CD can be removed from the base card for it to be used as a hanging decoration. On the underside of the CD it has also been given the UTEE treatment, I attached a very large flat backed pearl button over the 'spindle hole' I tried adding other elements, gems and such like but it just looked too crowded so I decided it was best left, told myself to stop faffing!
Thank you to the Bah Humbuggers for a fabulous challenge theme. I am very much looking forward to seeing what ideas challenge participants come up with using a CD.
Bah Humbug - Guest Designer week 6 - Doilies -
Here we are again, Its Bah Humbug Day, another week has flown by, where is the time going I ask myself. We have had a mixed bag of weather over the last week, we have been blessed with a couple of days of  beautiful sunshine and I have spotted some Crosuses, their heads just popping above the ground, a sure sign that Spring is on its way.
While I wait patiently for Spring to appear I have been continuing with my guest designer spot over at Bah Humbug  This weeks Challenge is 'Doilies' I have only quite recently started to use Doilies on cards, so I am no expert on using them. I have seen them used so beautifully, tucked in within layers of such pretty papers and gorgeous rubber stamped images. I have gone for simplicity, just tucking a little of the Doilie under the 'matt' I cut my Doilie down as the only ones I have left are just too small to do this, I do have a couple of 4" Doilies left, but have recently moved them and that is lethal, as it is likely they will never see the light of day again! The Doily is very old, I rescued a few from my local Emmaus It is thicker than your usual Doily, stands proud somwhat - this particular Doily can easily be cut down to a smaller size. Sadly, as they are quite old and 'delicate' I decided it wasn't wise to 'distress' in any way, left it 'au naturale'
Anyway, enough of my waffle, here is my card for this weeks challenge 'Doilies' over at Bah Humbug.
I did make a bit of a boo boo with the card for the RS image. It didn't at all like the Pro Markers? So my apologies for the garish looking image.
Bah Humbug - Guest Designer week 5 - Buttons and Bows -
I Hope Ann was able to add my design onto Bah Humbug .. I have been without internet access and then had a bit of a busy night with things for my parents, so my apologies Ann for the lateness of sending the file over. Thank you Max for been able to pass the info. over to Ann that I was without accress to the internet. Glad to hear you are feeling a lot more comfortable since you had the new plaster cast on.
The fabulous theme for this weeks challenge on Bah Humbugis 'Buttons and Bows' - I did have a bit of a 'mojo crisis' on this one as in I was trying too hard, trying to make everything too complicated. So I came up with something very 'simple' so as not to detract from the Beautiful Bows and Buttons.
