Bah Humbug Challenge 12 - Christmas Trees - CHNC Square Card

Here is my entry for this weeks challenge over at Bah Humbug  The Christmas trees feature on the papers as well using a Christmas Tree Charm.

My card also fits very nicely in with Hazels 13th challenge Make a Square Card

I have made a 'tent card using this fab. tutorial  Until I came across it I had not heard of this type of card. I will most definately be using it again on future projects. I was trying to add other elements around the aperture but it didn't look right, so decided it was best left .. such a simple card to make.

PaperArtsy RubberStamp Makes

I recently purchased a few PaperArtsy RS that were reduced but as yet had not managed to have a play with them. Here are a few 'Makes' I have created using one of the them. Two Birthday Cards and a Thinking of You' The ones I stamped onto glossy card appear a little 'blotchy' the stamps are probably more suited to Versafine Ink pad rather than the Impress one that I had used, I was curious how it would look on glossy paper hence the experimenting. I coloured in the image using Promarkers. Only probelm with this you can see the 'pen drag marks' but only when you look at the image side onwards so decided it would be ok to use the images.

Bah Humbug Challenge 11 - Metallic

This weeks wonderful challenge over at Bah Humbug  is 'Metallic' And boy the DT and Guest designers did not disappoint, truly stunning designs. I have made two cards this week, I was mooching around the wonderful challenge entries and was interested to read of one; where to dull down the metal 'Gesso' was used. I have made another Aperture card, this is the fab. thing about challenges, its gets you using techniques you havn't yet tried or not used in ages, I rarely made cards using apertures but last weeks challenge over at Bah Humbug has made me a little more confident in having a go more with them. Metal was used with the 'winter' embossing folder as well as the snowflake and miniture star die cuts. Once I had completed my card I had remembered I have quite a new Sizzix 'cut n' emboss' die of which I was also keen to use, so I decided I would make another card. The die cuts and embosses the metal beaitufully. I have added subtle colour using Adirondacks ink pads, cranberry and ginger and promarker pen was used to colour the deers nose and collar.
Both cards tie in beautifully with Hazel's challenge 12, 'Seasonal Silver' over at CHNC

Birthday Card with Aperture - 2cute Cat-Knit

A recent challenge over at Bah Humbug
Asked we create a project(s) with 'Apertures' You can see my entry here

I don't do many cards with apertures so feel very much out of my comfort zone - I decided to take up the challenge, even though I found it hard I am quite pleased that I had a go.
I was needing to make a birthday card for a very dear crafty friend who knits the most amazing garments.  I knew I had to use my 2cute Cat-knit digi image  After visiting some of the wonderful challenge entries on their blogs I was insprired to have a go again at making a card with an aperture. This is what I came up with. The recipient was over the moon with her card, which made me feel all warm inside. She hired her local community room where fellow crafters/knitters/spinners/felters etc.helped celebrate her birthday. She looked so beautiful in her pretty red outfit and red shoes .. sadly I was in such a tiz today with one thing and another, I forgot to take my camera! My gifts to my friend were a knitted mini liquorice tic tac toe board game and a pretty bone china cup and saucer where I placed a very pretty cupcake inside the cup,all wrapped up in cellophane.

The photocorner at the top looks crooked .. but its the angle of the photo .. honest.

Bah Humbug Challenge 10 - Apertures

I am soooo behind this week with my entry for this weeks challenge over at  Bah Humbug  As they say .. better late than never. This weeks challenge is 'Apertures' I have to say .. don't do many cards with apertures so for me I have found this challenge somewhat hard.
I have used the aperture, of which I cut using a 'Nellies' Die,  so it sits behind the poinsettia. Behind the aperture is my very last piece of some very pretty green coloured vellum which has a lovely shimmery feel to it.
As my card has features some'gold' I am also entering my card for Challenge 11 'Go For Gold' over at CHNC  I coloured a white button with gold krylon pen, placed in a gem in the centre, coloured that with gold krylon pen then placed glossy accents on top. I have also used the very pretty Cuttlebug Victorian photo corners using gold mirror card. The poinsettia also has some gold krylon pen run over the edges of the outer petals.

Birthdays and Thinking of You

I have a had a few cards to make but not had a chance to blog them. The birthdays were towards the end of February and then a couple at the beginning of March. My likkle sister's birthday is on March 17th,  St Patricks Day - Inspiration hasn't yet hit for this card so that is on the back burner for the moment. I decided on making quite similar cards - I was quite pleased with how the 1st one turned out so decided I would just tweek a little with the remaining 2 cards.

A friend sadly lost her Mother recently, her funeral is today. I wanted to send her a card letting her know I was thinking of her. I made this card

Just love this clear RS from Penny Black.

Bah Humbug - Challenge 9 - Embossing - CHNC 10 Embossing

Another week has flown by. I was meeting myself coming backwards with one thing and another. Quite an emotional week, feel very drained. I had hoped to get down to some crafting to take my mind off things but it didn't happen. I managed to make a very quick card yesterday - enjoyed emersing myself in being creative for half an hour or so.
Before I go onto showing my card for this weeks Bah Humbug Challenge 'Embossing' I would like to say a huge thank you Max and Ann for the most amazing surprise that arrived by post last Saturday morning. I was taken aback when the postie handed over a huge box and inside were The most gorgeous carnations and some choccies - Thankyou again Max and Ann .. You really made my day! I was so delighted to be able to help out .. Thank you to you both, your truly wonderful!

My beautiful flowers from Max and Ann .. Thank you so very much to you both xx

CHNC Challenge 9 - Let's Get Sentimental

I am needing to be quick to get my card onto CHNC
Its been a hectic week so there has been not much crafting going on. I have quickly put my card together, so I have had to make it simple.

I have computer generated the 'Sentiment' added with some English Paper Co. 'Winter' Wonderland paper,a piece of ribbon and snowflake charm - took me all of half and hour to make, must be a record for me. I am having real trouble getting my SD card to be recognised! Having to retrieve pics. the long winded way by plugging in camera to pc .. going to miss the 22.00 deadline! :-(  Sadly, cos the downloading of the pics took so long I have  missed the deadline :-(  .. need to get to the bottom of why my SD card holder isn't being recognised by my PC .. It was a few moments before then it all went downhill from there.
