Bah Humbug Challenge 19 - Snowflakes

Another week another challenge .. yes, its that time over at Bah Humbug and CHNC where fab. challenges have been set. I have managed to combine two challenges with one card. Challenge 19 over at
Bah Humbug is 'Snowflakes' The DT designs, as ever, are just lovely and over at CHNC chllenge 20 is
'Don't get distressed about distressing' as is usual,  Hazel's work is stunning.

Here is my card. Not the best Pic. I know. I am just getting used to a new camera phone - not owned one before. I dropped my old phone last week- A very basic Nokia - the inner screen smashed! I have had for an eternity, it has served me well. I took the plunge on getting somthing a bit more up to date.
I took the pics. quickly late last night as time was going to be against me today.
I have used a 'Tatty Teddy' clear RS, of which is a freebie with the recent creativity magazine. I have coloured him with promarkers. I have added a likkle cuttlebug snowflake - as if Tatty Teddy is holding the snowflake. I have embellished the snowflake with tiny irridescent 3D type sequins
These have also been added to the corners and above the nestie circle. I have embossed, using the snowflake Cutlebug embossing folder, onto whitewash C'ordinations card and then distressed it by sanding the embossing, the edges are distressed using a pair of scissors and some fluid chalk.

List of Supplies

Bah Humbug Challenge 18 - Going Green

This weeks challenge theme over at Bah Humbug is 'Recycling or Shades of Green. I have gone opted with 'Recycling.
The beautiful image has been lovingly created by Vince over at
Crafty Moments  Thank you Vince for your generosity. The images were just lovely to work with.

I have made a card and matching tag. I used the already coloured in image from Crafty Moments for the main card then coloued the mini image in with ProMarkers.  My 'recycled' items are the blue scalloped fabric edging rescued from a garment and the sequin waste or Punchannella as it is also known, of which we get from the our local council scrapstore. I may have gone a bit overboard with the sequin waste! I have used it to create a mask of which gives you a nice polka dot effect. I did this using glimmer mists and a strip of the waste.  I have laid the waste over the polka dot pattern so that is doesn't quite match up with the dots.  I feel my card might need something over the small panel of sequin waste, so to make the card look a bit more 'festive' Maybe some likkle
snowflakes? I will somtime soon add to the card.

I am indeed very pleased to have came across another Christmas Card Challenge Blog. Fab's Big Christmas Card Challenge 2011
Thank you for taking the time to comment Fabrizio. I have taken the plunge and entered my card into this month's challenge May Christmas Challenge with Blog Candy - Pastel Colours and/or Embossing

CHNC 19 - Photo Inspiration

This weeks challenge over at Crafty Hazelnut's Challenge Blog is to draw inspiration from this  Photo

I'd like you to use this photo as the inspiration to make your Christmas card. You can interpret your response in any way you wish - it might be one or more of the colours or patterns, or stockings, Santa, teddy, snowman, presents ... whatever the photo inspires you to make

Here is my take on this fab. challenge
I have used the tag elements from within a 12x12 English Paper Co. I layered these onto the red kraft card.
I used 'red brick' distress inks to 'distress' the edges of the papers, tags and nesties as well as colouring the sheer ribbon, of which was originally white.

Red Kraft Card
Red Mirror Card

Bah Humbug Challenge 17 - Pleats and Ruffles

Wow .. Another fab. challenge has been set over at Bah Humbug
Challenge seventeen is to create a Christmas project that features 'Pleats and Ruffles' I had to do a bit of searching of google for inspiration and tutorials on either pleats or ruffles - as not really done a lot of either within cardmaking.
Came across a nice tutorial for making

Layered Ruffled Ribbon

This is my finished card. As you may notice I have a rather bit more on my card than the tutorial showed - of which I think is so elegant and pretty with it, mine is most definately not 'less is more' My apologies about the pic. Was struggling with light as well as camera!

My card also fits in nicely with Hazels Christmas Challenge over at
